Cookie Run: Crumble Elements — Full Counter Chart

CookieRun: Crumble has five elements — Fire, Water, Grass, Light and Dark — and unlike previous Cookie Run games, they actually counter each other. Fire beats Grass, Water beats Fire, Grass beats Water, and Light and Dark counter each other in both directions.

Last updated: August 16, 2026.

The counter chart

The element on the left deals extra damage to the element on the right:

Attacker Deals extra damage to
🔥 Fire 🌱 Grass
💧 Water 🔥 Fire
🌱 Grass 💧 Water
Light 🌑 Dark
🌑 Dark ✨ Light

Two separate systems are at work here:

Fire, Water and Grass form a closed three-way cycle. Each has exactly one element it beats and exactly one that beats it. This is the familiar rock-paper-scissors shape.

Light and Dark counter each other in both directions. This is the part that surprises people. There is no safe side of a Light/Dark matchup — whichever one you bring, the other hits you harder too. Light and Dark have no interaction at all with Fire, Water or Grass.

The roster split

The five confirmed element groups are close in size. This table covers all 69 launch Cookies by keeping the two unresolved assignments visible instead of forcing them into a group:

Element Cookies Share
🔥 Fire 15 21.7%
🌱 Grass 14 20.3%
💧 Water 14 20.3%
✨ Light 12 17.4%
🌑 Dark 12 17.4%
❔ Unverified 2 2.9%

No element is scarce enough that you will struggle to cover it. If you are hard-walled by a particular stage, you will almost certainly own a counter-element Cookie already — the question is whether it is levelled.

Where element actually matters

Element is a damage modifier, not the foundation of a team. In practice:

It does not matter much in general progression. You field up to 12 Cookies against mixed waves, so there is rarely a single element to counter. A team built around roles and Synergy will out-perform one built around element matching.

It matters when you are stuck. Against a single hard target — a boss, a wall you have failed repeatedly — swapping in the counter element is a real, free damage increase. This is the situation the chart is for.

Light and Dark deserve care. Because they counter each other symmetrically, a Light-heavy team walking into a Dark boss is taking extra damage and dealing it. That trade favours whoever survives longer, which usually means the side with the better Tank rather than the better element.

Build order

  1. Roles first. A frontline Charge, at least one Tank, damage behind them, and a Support. Four roles, and a team missing one of them fails structurally.
  2. Synergy second. Match a provider to what your carry receives — only 18 of 69 Cookies grant Synergy at all, so this constrains the team more than element does.
  3. Element last, as a targeted answer to a specific wall.

Sources

The counter relationships are documented on the Korean namu.wiki Crumble Cookie page, read on August 5, 2026, which states that the element on the left of the arrow deals additional damage to the element on the right. The 67 confirmed element assignments come from the Cookie Run Wiki per-Cookie Crumble pages. Two launch Cookies did not have a verifiable element field when this page was checked, so they remain unassigned here.

Devsisters has not published an official element chart in English, and we could not find these relationships documented in any English-language source. That means the chart above rests on a single source. We have not measured the size of the damage bonus in live play, and the in-game skill text does not state a percentage. If you find this contradicted in game, we would rather correct it than leave it up.

FAQ

What beats what in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Fire beats Grass, Water beats Fire, and Grass beats Water — a three-way cycle. Light and Dark counter each other both ways. The element on the left of the arrow deals extra damage to the one on the right.

How many elements does Cookie Run: Crumble have?

Five: Fire, Water, Grass, Light and Dark. We have confirmed elements for 67 of the 69 launch Cookies — Fire 15, Grass 14, Water 14, Light 12 and Dark 12; two remain unverified.

Do Light and Dark beat each other in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Yes. Unlike the Fire/Water/Grass cycle where each element has one it beats and one it loses to, Light and Dark counter each other in both directions. Neither has a safe matchup against the other.

Does element matter more than class in Cookie Run: Crumble?

No. Class decides whether your team can function at all — you need a frontline, something to survive on, and damage behind it. Element is a damage modifier layered on top. Build the team by role and Synergy first, then use element to break a specific wall you are stuck on.
