Dark Choco Cookie is an SSR Dark-element Tank in CookieRun: Crumble — a reclassification worth flagging, since he is a damage dealer in Cookie Run: Kingdom. His skill Dark Sword Strike runs on a 6-second cooldown.

What Dark Sword Strike does
He calls down a lightning storm that does three things at once: damage, knockback, and DEF reduction on everything it hits.
The skill text adds a conditional: the debuff application rate scales with the caster’s Focus. That makes the DEF reduction the part of his kit that rewards investment — the damage and knockback land regardless, but how reliably the debuff sticks depends on his stats.
A Tank that makes your damage dealers hit harder
This is what separates him from the other five SSR Tanks. Most of them absorb damage or shield allies. Dark Choco reduces enemy DEF, which multiplies the output of everyone standing behind him.
| Cookie | Skill | Cooldown | What it does beyond tanking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madeleine | Commander’s Blade | 4.0s | Pushback only |
| Strawberry Crepe | Crepe Crasher | 4.0s | Pushback only |
| Schwarzwälder | Choco Chip Hammer | 4.2s | Stun |
| Dark Choco | Dark Sword Strike | 6.0s | DEF reduction |
| Ion Cookie Robot | Ion Shield | 7.0s | Shields self and low-HP allies |
| Nameless Cake Hound | Giant Flame Slash | 7.2s | Reduces damage taken by allies |
Read that table as three different jobs. Madeleine and Strawberry Crepe are fast, plain frontline bodies. Ion Cookie Robot and Nameless Cake Hound are protective — they keep the team alive. Dark Choco and Schwarzwälder are offensive Tanks: one strips DEF, the other stuns.
If your problem is dying, take Ion Cookie Robot or Nameless Cake Hound. If your problem is not killing fast enough, take Dark Choco.
Who buffs him
He receives Duration Synergy, which is one of the cheapest to cover in the game:
- Cheerleader Cookie (U) — 5.0s cooldown
- Coffee Cookie (U) — 5.0s cooldown
- Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Pediatrician (SSR) — 7.0s cooldown
Two of the three providers are U rarity with the shortest cooldowns of the three. This is one of the clearest examples of the point made on the Synergy page: rarity does not predict who provides, and benching everything below SSR costs you access to Synergies your SSRs need.
Stats: the SSR Tank template
Every SSR Tank shares the same base stats — 124 ATK / 120 DEF / 3,255 HP. That is the highest HP and DEF of any SSR class, against 155 / 60 / 2,170 for an SSR Ranged and 146 / 85 / 2,635 for an SSR Charge.
So choosing between SSR Tanks is entirely a question of skill and cooldown, never of durability. They are all equally hard to kill.
Should you build him?
Yes, if your team already survives and needs to kill faster. His DEF reduction scales every damage dealer behind him, and his Duration Synergy is covered by two U-rarity Cookies you almost certainly own.
His Dark element cuts both ways against Light enemies — see the element chart — but as a Tank he is meant to be taking the hits regardless.

We have not played him ourselves; no tier placement is claimed here.
FAQ
What is Dark Choco Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Dark Sword Strike, on a 6-second cooldown. He calls down lightning that damages enemies, knocks them back and reduces their DEF. The debuff application rate scales with the caster's Focus.
Is Dark Choco a Tank in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Yes, despite being a sword-wielding damage dealer in other Cookie Run games. In Crumble he is a Tank, which means the SSR Tank stat template of 124 ATK / 120 DEF / 3,255 HP — the highest HP and DEF of any SSR class.
Which Cookies boost Dark Choco in Cookie Run: Crumble?
He receives Duration Synergy, granted by three Cookies: Milk Cookie's Crunchy Strong Pediatrician (SSR, 7s), Cheerleader Cookie (U, 5s) and Coffee Cookie (U, 5s). Two of the three are U rarity, so this Synergy is cheap to cover.
Is Dark Choco worth building in Cookie Run: Crumble?
He is the SSR Tank that also debuffs. The DEF reduction on his skill makes every damage dealer behind him hit harder, which is a different job from Tanks that only absorb damage.
