What Care for Some Coffee? does

The in-game text is short: Coffee throws coffee, granting increased Accuracy to allies and granting Duration Synergy.

Two things are happening there and they are worth separating.

The Accuracy buff is the visible part of the skill — it applies to allies when the skill fires, every 5 seconds. The game does not publish a percentage for it on the wiki page, so we are not going to guess one.

The Duration Synergy is the part that decides whether Coffee has a place on your team. Synergy is a permanent team-composition effect, not something that ticks with the cooldown: put a Duration provider in the team and every Cookie that receives Duration gets it. That mechanic is explained in full on the Synergy page.

Per-stat values at base promotion are not published for U-rarity Cookies, so there is no ATK/DEF/HP table here. What we can say is that U is the lowest rarity tier in the game, and low-rarity Cookies generally have lower raw numbers than the SSRs they sit next to. Coffee is not on your team for its stat line.

The Duration Synergy is the whole point

Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all. Everyone else is purely a recipient. Coffee is in the small group that gives something, which is a much more interesting position than its rarity suggests.

Fourteen Cookies receive Duration, and Coffee covers all of them at once:

Class of recipient Cookies that receive Duration from Coffee
Named recipients Cream Puff, Dark Choco, Scorpion, Skating Queen, Space Doughnut’s Royal Excellence, Orange, Pancake, Peach, Popcorn, Tiger Lily, Adventurer, Angel, GingerBright, Strawberry

That list includes Cookies people actually build around. Dark Choco Cookie is an SSR Tank on a 6-second cooldown whose only Synergy is Duration. Cream Puff and Scorpion are SSR Ranged carries. If any of those are in your team, the Cookie that turns their Synergy on can be a U-rarity Support you pulled in the first week.

This is the argument the whole site keeps running into: cheap Cookies cover expensive Cookies’ Synergies, and Coffee is one of the clearest examples of it.

Who buffs Coffee: Rapid Fire, and only two sources

Coffee receives exactly one Synergy, Rapid Fire, which increases how many times a skill activates. Two Cookies in the entire roster grant it:

Provider Rarity Class Cooldown
Grapevine Cookie R Support 5.5s
Orange Cookie SR Support 9.5s

Grapevine is the better pairing, and not by a small margin — 5.5 seconds against 9.5 means it cycles its own skill nearly twice as often, and it is the lower rarity of the two, so it is easier to own and easier to level. Grapevine is an R-rarity Cookie and one of the starter Cookies the game hands out, which means most players already have Coffee’s best partner before they have Coffee.

Rapid Fire is also the scarcest Synergy in the game by demand: twelve Cookies want it and these two supply it. Coffee is competing with SSR carries like Melon Soda for the same two providers, and the SSR carry will usually win that argument.

There is one neat loop worth noting. Orange Cookie grants Rapid Fire to Coffee, and Orange also receives Duration from Coffee. The two buff each other. Orange’s 9.5-second cooldown is the worst of any Rapid Fire provider, but if you are running Orange anyway, the reciprocal Synergy is free.

Competition: the other U Supports

Coffee’s direct rivals are the other U-rarity Supports:

Cookie Skill Cooldown Grants Receives
Coffee Cookie Care for Some Coffee? 5.0s Duration Rapid Fire
Cheerleader Cookie Cheering You On! 5.0s Duration Range
Angel Cookie Celestial Light 6.0s Duration
Onion Cookie Unstoppable Tears 6.5s Range

The honest read: Cheerleader Cookie does the same headline job. Same rarity, same class, same 5-second cooldown, same Duration Synergy granted. If you own Cheerleader, Coffee is not adding a Synergy you lack.

The split between them is what they receive. Coffee receives Rapid Fire, which has two providers. Cheerleader receives Range, which has four (Cream Soda, Knight, Toothpaste, Macaron). On availability of buffs, Cheerleader is the easier of the two to support. Coffee’s advantage over Cheerleader is not obvious from the data we have, and we are not going to invent one.

Against Angel and Onion, Coffee is straightforwardly ahead on cooldown and on the fact that it grants something. Angel is on the receiving end of Coffee’s own Duration, which makes them teammates rather than rivals.

Team fit and element

Coffee is Water element: extra damage dealt to Fire, extra damage taken from Grass. See the element chart for the full triangle, including the Light/Dark pair that counters both ways.

The team-building logic is simple. Coffee earns the back-line slot when at least one of your damage dealers or Tanks is on the Duration list, and you have no other Duration source. If nobody in your team receives Duration, Coffee is contributing an Accuracy buff and a U-rarity body, which is not much.

If you also run Grapevine, you get a tidy back line: Grapevine grants Rapid Fire to Coffee, Coffee grants Duration to whoever needs it, and both are low-rarity Cookies you likely own early.

Build it early, and keep it exactly as long as it is your only Duration source.

For a new account this is a genuinely useful Cookie. It costs U-rarity resources and it switches on a Synergy that 14 Cookies want, several of them SSRs. That is a better return than levelling a second mediocre attacker.

Replace it when either of two things happens: you pull a higher-rarity Support that grants Duration and also does more with its own skill, or your team stops containing Duration recipients. And if you already have Cheerleader Cookie levelled, there is no reason to level Coffee as well — they grant the same Synergy at the same cooldown.

That is the normal life cycle for a U Cookie. It is not a downgrade over time; it is a cheap Cookie doing a job that stays valuable until something specific replaces it. Where Coffee sits relative to the rest of the roster is a question for the tier list tool and your own account.
