What Wasabi Syrup does
The in-game text is one line: rapidly fires exploding wasabi, dealing damage to enemies ahead. There is no gather, no knockback, no damage over time, no ally buff. Every four seconds Dr. Wasabi throws a burst of damage down the lane in front of them.
Two things follow from that. The first is that Dr. Wasabi never interferes with anyone else’s positioning. A skill that pushes or pulls enemies can undo what a teammate just set up; this one cannot. You can drop Dr. Wasabi into a team that already works and nothing changes except the damage number.
The second is that the entire value of the Cookie is throughput. When a skill is only damage, whatever multiplies that damage is the whole conversation.
Per-stat base values for SR Cookies are not published in the data we have, so this page does not quote ATK, DEF or HP figures for Dr. Wasabi. The SSR templates we do have are on the class guide; SR numbers are not among them.
Rapid Fire: two providers, both named
Dr. Wasabi receives exactly one Synergy, Rapid Fire, which increases how many times a skill activates. For a Cookie whose skill is nothing but damage, that is the most direct possible multiplier, and it is also the hardest Synergy in the game to supply.
| Provider | Rarity | Class | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grapevine Cookie | R | Support | 5.5s |
| Orange Cookie | SR | Support | 9.5s |
That is the complete list. Two providers is a thin supply line, and Dr. Wasabi is not the only Cookie drawing on it — Rye Cookie, in the same class, receives the same Synergy. Full provider tables are on the Synergy page.
Grapevine Cookie is the pairing, and the reason is the cooldown: 5.5 seconds against Orange’s 9.5. A Synergy provider that cycles nearly twice as often applies its effect nearly twice as often. Orange is the fallback, not the plan.
Worth stating plainly, because it keeps happening across this roster: Grapevine is R rarity, one step below Dr. Wasabi, and it is still the stronger of the two Rapid Fire providers on cooldown alone. The best partner for an SR Cookie here is a lower-rarity one. Rarity is not what decides team quality in this game; Synergy coverage is.
Dr. Wasabi grants nothing
This is the honest limit of the Cookie. Plenty of Cookies grant a Synergy to their team, and Dr. Wasabi is not one of them: the grant list is empty. They receive Rapid Fire and give nothing back.
That matters for roster planning. A Cookie that grants a Synergy earns a slot even when its own skill is unremarkable, because it is feeding somebody else. Dr. Wasabi has to justify the slot on damage alone, and has to be handed a scarce Synergy to do it.
Competition: the SR Ranged field
Five other SR Ranged Cookies compete for the same slot.
| Cookie | Skill | Cooldown | Receives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Wasabi | Wasabi Syrup | 4.0s | Rapid Fire |
| Lemon Cookie | Lightning Cube | 4.0s | Projectile Speed |
| Rye Cookie | Showdown Time | 4.0s | Rapid Fire |
| Witchberry Cookie | Feline Ruckus | 4.0s | Pierce |
| Pancake Cookie | Take an Acorn! | 5.5s | Duration |
| Popcorn Cookie | Ready, Action! | 6.0s | Duration |
Dr. Wasabi sits at the front of the cooldown table tied with three others rather than ahead of them. Nobody in this class is slower than 6 seconds and nobody is faster than 4, so cooldown is not the tiebreaker here. The Synergy each one receives is.
The awkward comparison is Rye Cookie: same class, same rarity, same 4-second cooldown, same Rapid Fire Synergy. If you run one Rapid Fire provider, Rye and Dr. Wasabi are drawing on the same scarce resource, and there is nothing in our data that makes one strictly better than the other. Dr. Wasabi’s edge over Rye is not mechanical; it is whichever of the two you actually pulled, and which element the stage rewards.
Lemon and Witchberry are the more interesting alternatives precisely because they want different Synergies, Projectile Speed and Pierce. If your team already runs a Grapevine, Dr. Wasabi is well served. If it does not, Lemon or Witchberry may be easier to feed with the providers you already own.
Team fit
Bring Grapevine. That is most of it. Grapevine is a Support, so it fills the back-line slot a Ranged carry wants anyway, and it costs nothing.
Grass element means extra damage dealt to Water enemies and extra damage taken from Fire. See the element chart for the full triangle: Fire beats Grass, Water beats Fire, Grass beats Water, and Light and Dark counter each other both ways. On a Water-heavy stage Dr. Wasabi’s plain damage output looks a lot better; against Fire the same skill on a different element would serve you better.
Beyond that, Dr. Wasabi asks nothing of the team and offers nothing to it. Put a Charge or a Tank in front and let them fire.
Should you build them?
Build Dr. Wasabi early if they are what you pulled and you own a Rapid Fire provider, ideally Grapevine. A 4-second cooldown with a working Rapid Fire provider is a functional damage slot for a long stretch of early progression, and nothing in the kit will complicate a team you are still learning to build.
Expect to replace them later. An SR Cookie with no Synergy to give and no secondary effect on its skill is the kind of pick that gets swapped once SSR Ranged options come online, and Rapid Fire is contested enough that you will eventually want it going to whichever recipient hits hardest.
Do not build both Dr. Wasabi and Rye Cookie expecting the value to stack. They want the same thing from the same two Cookies.

FAQ
What is Dr. Wasabi Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Wasabi Syrup, on a 4-second cooldown. They rapidly fire exploding wasabi that damages enemies ahead. It is pure forward damage with no gathering, knockback or debuff attached.
Which Cookies boost Dr. Wasabi in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Dr. Wasabi receives Rapid Fire Synergy, and only two Cookies grant it: Grapevine Cookie (R rarity, Support, 5.5-second cooldown) and Orange Cookie (SR, Support, 9.5 seconds). Grapevine is the better of the two, because its 5.5-second cooldown cycles far more often than Orange's 9.5.
Is Dr. Wasabi good in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Their 4-second cooldown is the joint-fastest among SR Ranged Cookies, tied with Lemon, Rye and Witchberry. The skill has no secondary effect, so Dr. Wasabi is a damage slot rather than a utility pick, and Rye Cookie does a very similar job on the same Synergy.
What element is Dr. Wasabi Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Grass. Dr. Wasabi deals extra damage to Water enemies and takes extra damage from Fire.
