What Ready, Action! does
The full in-game skill text is one sentence: fires a laser, dealing damage to enemies in a straight line. That is the whole kit. No damage over time, no gathering, no knockback, no shield, no buff handed to allies.
The words doing the work are straight line. A line skill only pays off when enemies are lined up in it. Against a scattered wave, a large share of a Popcorn cast lands on empty floor; against a corridor of enemies walking single file, the same cast hits several of them at once. Popcorn’s output therefore swings much harder on enemy placement than it does for a Cookie who simply fires into whatever is nearest.
That also means Popcorn is a natural partner for anything that gathers enemies into a clump before the laser goes off — a gather effect and a line skill point in the same direction. We are not naming a specific pairing as tested, because we have not played it. The interaction is just what the two skill descriptions imply.
Per-stat values for Popcorn at base promotion are not published in our data set. The stat templates we have cover SSR Cookies only, so anyone quoting exact SR Ranged ATK/DEF/HP numbers is guessing.
Duration is the only Synergy Popcorn receives
Popcorn receives one Synergy: Duration, which extends how long a skill lasts. Three Cookies in the launch roster grant it.
| Provider | Rarity | Class | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cheerleader Cookie | U | Support | 5.0s |
| Coffee Cookie | U | Support | 5.0s |
| Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Pediatrician | SSR | Support | 7.0s |
Read that table twice, because it is the most useful thing on this page. The two best providers of Popcorn’s Synergy are both U-rarity — the cheapest tier in the game — and both cycle at 5 seconds, two full seconds faster than the SSR option. Pulling Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Pediatrician does not upgrade Popcorn’s buff; on cooldown alone it downgrades it.
This keeps happening across the roster. Rarity buys you a better Cookie, not a better Synergy provider, and a player with no SSRs can still run a fully buffed Duration team on Cheerleader or Coffee. Fourteen Cookies want Duration and three grant it, so one Cheerleader on the team is likely covering more than just Popcorn. The full provider table is on the Synergy page.
One caveat we keep repeating: each provider grants its Synergy for a stated number of seconds, then it drops. A 5-second cooldown means the buff comes back around quickly, but it does not mean the buff is permanent, and whether two providers of the same Synergy stack is not stated in the skill text.
Popcorn grants nothing
Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy to their team at all, and Popcorn is not one of them. Popcorn is a pure receiver.
That matters when you are deciding who to cut. A Cookie that grants a Synergy earns a team slot even when its own damage is unremarkable, because it is feeding somebody else. Popcorn has no such argument. The case for Popcorn is Popcorn’s own damage and nothing else.
Competition: the slowest of the six
The SR Ranged class has six members. Here is the whole class:
| Cookie | Cooldown | Skill | Receives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Wasabi Cookie | 4.0s | Wasabi Syrup | Rapid Fire |
| Lemon Cookie | 4.0s | Lightning Cube | Projectile Speed |
| Rye Cookie | 4.0s | Showdown Time | Rapid Fire |
| Witchberry Cookie | 4.0s | Feline Ruckus | Pierce |
| Pancake Cookie | 5.5s | Take an Acorn! | Duration |
| Popcorn Cookie | 6.0s | Ready, Action! | Duration |
Popcorn is last, and not by a rounding error. Four classmates cycle at 4 seconds, a third faster, and Pancake wants the exact same Duration Synergy from the exact same three providers while cycling at 5.5. If you own Pancake and Popcorn and can only feed one, the Synergy question is a tie and the cooldown question is not.
Popcorn’s counter-argument is narrow. Duration has three providers, two of them U-rarity, while Dr. Wasabi and Rye both depend on Rapid Fire, the scarcest Synergy in the game by demand. A buffed Popcorn is easier to assemble than a buffed Rye. That is a real advantage on a thin roster and a small one once your roster fills out.
Light element: extra damage to Dark, extra damage taken from Dark. See the element chart.
Should you build them?
Early on, yes, if Popcorn is what you have. An SR Ranged Cookie with a cheap, well-supplied Synergy clears content fine while you are still assembling a roster, and Cheerleader or Coffee will already be in your box.
Later, no. Popcorn is the slowest Cookie in their own class, receives the same Synergy as a faster classmate, grants nothing to the team, and has no second effect to fall back on. As SSR Ranged options come in, Popcorn is one of the first Cookies to lose the slot.
The one situation that keeps Popcorn around longer is a team already running Cheerleader or Coffee for somebody else’s Duration. The buff is paid for, and Popcorn rides it for free. Compare against the rest of the roster on the tier list tool.

FAQ
What is Popcorn Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Ready, Action!, on a 6-second cooldown. Popcorn fires a laser that damages enemies in a straight line. There is no second effect attached — no debuff, no knockback, no ally buff.
Which Cookies boost Popcorn in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Popcorn receives Duration Synergy. Three Cookies grant it: Cheerleader Cookie (U, 5.0s cooldown), Coffee Cookie (U, 5.0s) and Milk Cookie's Crunchy Strong Pediatrician (SSR, 7.0s). Two of the three are U-rarity, so the buff is cheap to cover.
Is Popcorn Cookie good in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Popcorn has the slowest cooldown of the six SR Ranged Cookies at 6 seconds, against four rivals at 4 seconds. The straight-line laser is a positioning-dependent skill with no utility attached, so Popcorn is usually a stopgap Ranged slot rather than a long-term one.
What element is Popcorn Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Light. Popcorn deals extra damage to Dark enemies and takes extra damage from Dark, because Light and Dark counter each other in both directions.
