Cookie Run: Crumble — Gumball Cookie (U Tank)

Gumball Cookie — CookieRun: Crumble

Gumball Cookie is a U-rarity Water-element Tank in CookieRun: Crumble. Its skill Gumball Cannon runs on a 5.25-second cooldown and does two things at once: area damage in front, and a patch of gum that slows whatever walks through it.

What Gumball Cannon does

The in-game text: “Shoots off gumballs, dealing area damage to enemies ahead. Reduces Movement Speed of enemies who step in the gum.”

In plain terms, this is a forward burst of damage plus a lingering ground effect. The damage part is ordinary. The gum is the interesting half — a Movement Speed reduction keeps working after the skill animation ends, which is unusual for a Tank skill and unusual for the lowest rarity in the game.

Slowing enemies in front of your line has a straightforward payoff on a Tank: enemies that move slower reach your back line later, and the Ranged Cookie behind Gumball gets more free shots. It does not reduce incoming damage the way a shield would, but it reduces how much damage arrives on time.

We do not have published per-stat base values for Gumball Cookie, and we do not have a published number for how much Movement Speed the gum removes or how long the patch lasts. This page does not guess at either. The stat templates we can cite cover SSR rarity only.

Volley: three Cookies can grant it, none of them cheap

Gumball Cookie receives one Synergy, Volley. It grants none.

Provider Rarity Class Cooldown
Herb Cookie SR Support 6.5s
Cheesecake Cookie R Support 8.0s
Tiger Lily Cookie SR Charge 10.0s

Herb Cookie is the best pairing on cooldown alone — 6.5 seconds against Cheesecake’s 8.0 and Tiger Lily’s 10.0. A shorter provider cooldown means the Synergy is being applied more often over the course of a fight, so all else equal you want the fastest cycler you own.

Note what is missing from that table: there is no U-rarity provider. Across this roster the usual pattern is that a cheap Cookie covers an expensive Cookie’s Synergy — Knight (U) covering Range, Alchemist (R) covering Projectile Speed, Grapevine (R) covering Rapid Fire. Volley runs the other way. The cheapest Cookie in Gumball’s buff list is Cheesecake at R rarity, and the strongest option is SR. A U-rarity Tank that needs an SR Support to be at its best is an awkward proposition for a new account, because if you own Herb Cookie you probably own better Tanks too.

One consolation: Ion Cookie Robot, an SSR Tank, also receives Volley. If you are already running a Volley provider for something else, Gumball is covered for free. Full provider table on the Synergy page.

Competition: the three U Tanks

Cookie Skill Cooldown Grants Receives
Zombie Cookie Braiiiiins 2.5s Projectile Speed
Knight Cookie Cavalry Charge 5.0s Range Range
Gumball Cookie Gumball Cannon 5.25s Volley

Gumball has the slowest cooldown of the three, by a small margin over Knight and by a large one over Zombie. Zombie Cookie cycles at 2.5 seconds, less than half of Gumball’s 5.25.

Knight Cookie is the more consequential comparison. Knight grants Range Synergy, and only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all. That makes Knight useful on a team long after its own combat contribution stops mattering, because it feeds a buff to somebody else. Gumball grants nothing, so its value on the team is only what it does itself.

Said plainly: among U Tanks, Knight is the one with a reason to keep it, Zombie is the one with the fast skill, and Gumball is the one with the debuff. The debuff is real, but it is the weakest of those three arguments once your roster grows.

Team fit

Water element: extra damage to Fire, extra damage taken from Grass. See the element chart.

The natural build around Gumball is a slow-and-shoot line — Gumball in front slowing the approach, a Ranged carry behind it, and a Support that happens to grant Volley. Both of the Support-class Volley providers, Herb and Cheesecake, fill that back slot themselves, so the team more or less writes itself: Gumball, a carry, Herb or Cheesecake.

Tiger Lily Cookie is the odd provider out. It is a Charge Cookie, so it wants to be up front where Gumball already is, and its 10-second cooldown is the slowest of the three. Take it only if it is your only Volley source.

Should you build it?

Early, yes. It is a U-rarity Tank, which means it is cheap to obtain and cheap to level, and a slow effect on the front line is genuinely useful while your damage output is low.

Later, replace it. U is the bottom of the rarity ladder, and Gumball does not have the thing that keeps a low-rarity Cookie in rotation permanently: it does not grant a Synergy. Knight Cookie does, at the same rarity and in the same class, which is why Knight tends to survive roster upgrades and Gumball tends not to.

The one case for keeping it long-term is if you want the Movement Speed debuff specifically and nothing else you own provides something similar. That is a real reason, but check your other options first — our tier list tool lets you compare the Tank pool side by side.

FAQ

What is Gumball Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Gumball Cannon, on a 5.25-second cooldown. Gumball Cookie shoots off gumballs that deal area damage to enemies ahead, and the gum left behind reduces the Movement Speed of enemies who step in it.

Which Cookies boost Gumball Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Gumball Cookie receives Volley Synergy. Three Cookies grant it: Cheesecake Cookie (R Support, 8.0s cooldown), Herb Cookie (SR Support, 6.5s) and Tiger Lily Cookie (SR Charge, 10.0s). Herb has the shortest cooldown of the three.

Is Gumball Cookie good in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Gumball Cookie is a U-rarity Tank, the lowest rarity in the game, so it is an early-roster body rather than a long-term pick. Its slow effect is real utility, but its 5.25-second cooldown is the slowest of the three U Tanks and it grants no Synergy of its own.

What element is Gumball Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Water. Gumball Cookie deals extra damage to Fire enemies and takes extra damage from Grass.
