What Cavalry Charge does

Two things, and only one of them matters much.

The damage half is a swing that hits enemies surrounding Knight rather than a cone in front — so it wants to be in the middle of the pile, which is where a Tank stands anyway. There is no shield, no pushback, no debuff attached. For a U-rarity Cookie that is expected.

The buff half is the reason to keep Knight in your box. Cavalry Charge grants Range Synergy to nearby allies, and only 18 of the game’s 69 Cookies grant any Synergy at all. Knight is one of them.

Per-stat base values are not published for U-rarity Cookies in the sources we use, so we are not going to guess at Knight’s ATK, DEF or HP. Treat it as a low-rarity frontline body: it holds a lane, it will not out-tank an SSR.

Knight is one of four Range providers

Range is one of the better-supplied Synergies in the game, and Knight is the cheapest source of it by a wide margin.

Provider Rarity Class Cooldown
Cream Soda Cookie SSR Charge 3.5s
Knight Cookie U Tank 5.0s
Toothpaste Cookie SSR Support 6.5s
Macaron Cookie SR Support 7.0s

Cream Soda cycles fastest and is the best pairing if you own it. But two of the four providers are SSR and the third is SR. Knight is U rarity — the tier you get handed early and can promote cheaply — and it still has the second-shortest cooldown of the four, faster than both Toothpaste and Macaron.

This is the site’s running argument in one line: a cheap Cookie covers an expensive Cookie’s Synergy. If your Espresso or Madeleine wants Range and you have no Cream Soda, Knight fills the slot at a fraction of the investment.

Full provider list for every Synergy is on the Synergy page.

Who benefits from Knight’s Range

Eighteen Cookies receive Range Synergy, which is a wide net for a U-rarity Cookie to be throwing:

Espresso Cookie, Madeleine Cookie, Milky Way Cookie, Nameless Cake Hound, Schwarzwälder, Rockstar Cookie, Alchemist Cookie, Berry Yogurt Cookie, Grapevine Cookie, Poison Mushroom Cookie, Cheerleader Cookie, Knight Cookie, Onion Cookie, Princess Cookie, Red Pepper Cookie, GingerBrave, Muscle Cookie and Sugar Gnome.

Two things worth pulling out of that list.

Knight receives Range itself. It appears in its own recipient list, so a Knight on the field is buffing itself as well as the allies around it. That does not make it a strong Tank, but it means the Synergy is never wasted even in a team where nobody else takes Range.

The list includes four of the six SSR Tanks’ worth of front-line names plus the main Ranged carries. Espresso, Milky Way, Madeleine, Schwarzwälder and Nameless Cake Hound are all on it. One Knight can cover a carry and a Tank at the same time, which is the same efficiency argument that makes Cream Soda good — just with a Cookie you actually have.

Competition: the other U Tanks

Cookie Skill Cooldown Grants Receives
Zombie Cookie Braiiiiins 2.5s Projectile Speed
Knight Cookie Cavalry Charge 5.0s Range Range
Gumball Cookie Gumball Cannon 5.25s Volley

Zombie cycles at 2.5 seconds, twice as often as Knight. If you want a U Tank purely for how frequently its skill fires, Zombie wins that comparison outright and it is not close.

What neither Zombie nor Gumball does is give anything. They are recipients only. That is the whole case for Knight over its two classmates: you are not picking it for the sword swing, you are picking it because it is a portable Range buff attached to a body that can stand in front.

Being honest about the ceiling: Knight is a U-rarity Tank, and a U-rarity Tank does not stay in your main team. The six SSR Tanks share 124 ATK / 120 DEF / 3,255 HP and Knight will not be near that. What survives the upgrade is the Synergy role, not the frontline role.

Light element: extra damage to Dark, extra taken from Dark. See the element chart.

Should you build it?

Build it early, then decide by what you pull.

Keep investing if you do not own Cream Soda or Toothpaste. Range is wanted by 18 Cookies and supplied by four, and Knight is the only cheap one. A Knight kept at a usable level is a Synergy slot you can always fill, and it is the second-fastest provider of the four regardless of rarity.

Retire it once a Cream Soda lands. Cream Soda grants the same Synergy on a 3.5-second cooldown, is a Charge rather than a Tank so it frees your front line for a real SSR Tank, and does its own damage properly.

Do not build it as your Tank. Zombie cycles faster among U Tanks, and any SSR Tank is better than either. Knight’s job is the buff.

That is the useful way to read most U-rarity Cookies in Crumble: not “is this good”, but “does this cover something I have no other source for”. For Range, early on, Knight does.

FAQ

What is Knight Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Cavalry Charge, on a 5-second cooldown. Knight swings a sword that damages surrounding enemies, and grants Range Synergy to nearby allies. The Synergy is the important half.

Which Cookies get Range Synergy from Knight Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Eighteen Cookies receive Range, including Espresso, Madeleine, Milky Way, Schwarzwälder, Nameless Cake Hound, GingerBrave, Princess and Knight itself. Knight is one of only four Cookies in the game that can supply it.

Is Knight Cookie worth building in Cookie Run: Crumble?

As a Tank body, no — it is U rarity and gets replaced. As a Range Synergy source it stays useful, because the other three providers are Cream Soda, Toothpaste and Macaron, and most players do not have any of them early.

What element is Knight Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Light. Knight deals extra damage to Dark enemies and takes extra damage from Dark, since Light and Dark counter each other both ways.
