She out-cycles every SSR Charge

The four SSR Charges are the units you will eventually replace her with. She is faster than all of them:

Cookie Rarity Cooldown Grants Synergy
Dark Cherry R 2.2s
Cream Soda SSR 3.5s Range
Vampire SSR 6.0s
Strawberry Shortcake SSR 6.2s Pierce
Skating Queen SSR 8.0s Chain

Against Skating Queen she activates nearly four times as often. That is a real advantage and it is why she stays useful longer than a free starter Cookie usually would.

Among Charge Cookies overall she is fourth-fastest, behind Red Pepper Cookie (0.8s), Bear Jelly Worker (1.75s) and Princess Cookie (2.0s) — all lower or equal rarity.

What she gives the team: nothing

This is the honest limit. Her skill is a fast slice, and that is all it is. She grants no Synergy, applies no debuff, buffs nobody.

Three of the four SSR Charges above do grant a Synergy, and that is why they replace her. Cream Soda supplies Range to 18 Cookies. Strawberry Shortcake is one of only two Pierce sources in the game. Those Cookies earn their slot partly through what they hand the rest of the team; Dark Cherry has to earn hers purely on her own output.

Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant Synergy at all — see the Synergy page for the full list.

Who buffs her

She receives Rapid Fire Synergy, which increases how many times a skill activates — the most direct multiplier possible on a Cookie whose skill is pure damage.

Provider Rarity Cooldown
Grapevine Cookie R 5.5s
Orange Cookie SR 9.5s

Only two Cookies in the entire game grant Rapid Fire, and twelve want it — the worst want-to-supply ratio of any Synergy. But Grapevine is one of the three starter Cookies handed out alongside Dark Cherry, and it has by far the better cooldown.

So the pairing is automatic: the two Cookies the game gives you happen to be a Rapid Fire provider and a Rapid Fire recipient. The third starter, Berry Yogurt Cookie, is a Tank that holds the line in front of both.

Competition: the other R-rarity Charges

Cookie Skill Cooldown Receives
Bear Jelly Worker Ultimate Strike 1.75s Rapid Fire
Dark Cherry SLICE! 2.2s Rapid Fire
Blackberry Cookie Ghost Servants 5.0s Projectile Speed
Poison Mushroom Cookie Poison Cloud 5.75s Range

Bear Jelly Worker is the direct rival — same rarity, same class, same Synergy, and faster. Dark Cherry’s advantage is simply that you already have her and have probably already levelled her.

If you run both, one Grapevine covers both, which makes an all-R Charge frontline unusually cheap to assemble.

Element

Fire. She deals extra damage to Grass enemies and takes extra damage from Water. As a Charge she is pushed into the swarm rather than sitting behind it, so the matchup is felt rather than theoretical. See the element chart.

Should you build her?

Yes at the start — you have her, she is fast, and her Synergy provider came in the same box. That is a functional opening frontline with no gacha luck involved.

Replace her when you pull a Charge that grants a Synergy. Cream Soda Cookie is the clearest upgrade: slower than Dark Cherry but supplying Range to the most-wanted Synergy pool in the game. Strawberry Shortcake Cookie matters if you own Wind Archer, since she is one of two Pierce sources.

FAQ

What is Dark Cherry Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?

SLICE!, on a 2.2-second cooldown. That is the fourth-fastest cooldown among Charge Cookies and well ahead of every SSR Charge — the fastest of those is Cream Soda at 3.5 seconds.

Which Cookies boost Dark Cherry in Cookie Run: Crumble?

She receives Rapid Fire Synergy, which has only two providers in the whole game: Grapevine Cookie (R rarity, 5.5s cooldown) and Orange Cookie (SR rarity, 9.5s). Grapevine is one of the three free starter Cookies, so the better of the two comes with the account.

Should you reroll for Dark Cherry in Cookie Run: Crumble?

There is no need — she is one of the three Cookies the game gives you at the start. Reroll targets are better spent on a Cookie that grants a Synergy, since only 18 of the 69 Cookies do and Dark Cherry is not one of them.

What element is Dark Cherry Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Fire. She deals extra damage to Grass enemies and takes extra damage from Water. As a frontline Charge she is in contact with the swarm, so the matchup is felt.
