What Giant Flame Slash does

A sword swing that knocks back and damages surrounding enemies, plus a damage-reduction effect on nearby allies.

Note “surrounding”, not “ahead”. Madeleine and Strawberry Crepe push enemies forward; this hits in every direction, which suits a Tank standing inside a swarm rather than at the front of a line.

The word “nearby” on the ally effect is the constraint. Damage reduction only applies to Cookies close enough to be inside the aura — which is precisely why its Synergy matters.

Range Synergy widens the aura

It receives Range Synergy, which increases the area a skill covers. For most Cookies that means hitting more enemies. For this one it also means more of your own team standing inside the protection.

Provider Rarity Cooldown
Cream Soda Cookie SSR 3.5s
Knight Cookie U 5.0s
Toothpaste Cookie SSR 6.5s
Macaron Cookie SR 7.0s

Cream Soda refreshing Range every 3.5 seconds against the hound’s 7.2-second cycle means the aura is at its widest every time it goes up. That pairing does more here than it does for a damage carry, where Range only adds reach.

The slowest SSR Tank

Being honest about the number:

Cookie Cooldown Protects allies?
Madeleine 4.0s No
Strawberry Crepe 4.0s No
Schwarzwälder 4.2s No (stuns)
Dark Choco 6.0s No (debuffs)
Ion Cookie Robot 7.0s Yes — shields
Nameless Cake Hound 7.2s Yes — damage reduction

The two protective Tanks are also the two slowest. That is not a coincidence — team protection is the strongest Tank effect in the game, and it is priced accordingly.

All six share 124 ATK / 120 DEF / 3,255 HP, so the hound is exactly as tough as Madeleine. It just does more for everyone else, less often.

Damage reduction or shields?

The choice against Ion Cookie Robot comes down to how your team is dying:

  • Ground down over time — many small hits, HP bars sliding steadily. Take the hound. A percentage cut applied constantly beats a flat buffer that gets chewed through.
  • Killed suddenly — a Cookie at full HP dies to a spike. Take Ion Cookie Robot. A shield absorbs the burst; a percentage reduction just makes the spike slightly smaller.

They also differ in reach: the hound protects everyone nearby, the robot shields low-HP allies specifically. Broad and constant versus targeted and reactive.

Team fit

It wants Cream Soda or Toothpaste for the Range Synergy, and it wants the rest of the team clustered rather than spread — the aura rewards proximity.

Fire element: extra damage to Grass enemies, extra taken from Water. For a Tank that is a real consideration, since it is the one absorbing hits. See the element chart.

Should you build it?

Yes, if attrition is your problem and you have a Range provider. The combination of the hound plus Cream Soda is one of the more thought-through pairings in the roster — the Synergy does double duty, widening both the damage and the protection.

Skip it if your team dies to burst rather than attrition, or if you have no Range provider at all — at 7.2 seconds with a small aura it contributes little.

FAQ

What is Nameless Cake Hound's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?

Giant Flame Slash, on a 7.2-second cooldown. It swings its sword, knocking back and damaging surrounding enemies, and reduces damage taken by nearby allies.

Which Cookies boost Nameless Cake Hound in Cookie Run: Crumble?

It receives Range Synergy, granted by Cream Soda (SSR, 3.5s), Knight (U, 5s), Toothpaste (SSR, 6.5s) and Macaron (SR, 7s). Range increases the area a skill covers, which for this Cookie means more allies inside the damage-reduction aura.

Is Nameless Cake Hound worth using in Cookie Run: Crumble?

It has the longest cooldown of any SSR Tank at 7.2 seconds, but it is one of only two that protect other Cookies. Its damage reduction suits teams being ground down by steady damage, where a shield would be overkill.

What are Nameless Cake Hound's pronouns?

It/Its, per the Cookie Run Wiki.
