What Beach Ball Surprise does

The in-game text: “Throws a beach ball, dealing damage to enemies. Pops the beach ball to restore HP to nearby allies, while lime slices fly out granting CRIT% increase and Chain Synergy.”

In plain terms it is a two-stage skill. The ball goes out and hits enemies, then it bursts, and the burst is the part that matters for your own team: HP restored to allies nearby, a CRIT% increase, and Chain Synergy handed to whoever on the team can use it.

Two things are worth flagging before you plan around it. First, the heal is positional. It restores HP to nearby allies, not the whole team, so it rewards a formation that stays grouped and does nothing for a Cookie that has been knocked or pulled out of the cluster. Second, 8 seconds is a long cycle. Whatever Lime provides, they provide it in infrequent bursts rather than as a steady stream, and that is the biggest single limit on the kit.

Per-stat values for SR Cookies are not published in the data we have, so we are not quoting numbers for the heal, the CRIT% figure, or Lime’s base stats. Anyone giving you exact percentages for an SR Cookie should be able to show you where they came from.

Chain Synergy is the actual reason to run Lime

Most Cookies only receive Synergy. Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant one, and Lime is one of them. That is the difference between “a Support you level when you have spare resources” and “a Support that unlocks another Cookie’s kit.”

Lime grants Chain. Five Cookies receive it:

Recipient Note
Twizzly Gummy Cookie Its skill already chains between targets, so Chain is the direct upgrade
Oven Wanderer Cookie Receives Chain
Vampire Cookie Receives Chain
Dr. Bones Cookie Receives Chain
Skater Cookie Receives Chain

If you run any of those five, Lime is one of your sources for the Synergy they want. If you run none of them, the Chain grant is dead weight, and you are paying an 8-second cooldown for a positional heal and a CRIT% buff.

Note the fourth row. Dr. Bones Cookie is also an SR Support — a direct rival for the same team slot — and it receives the Synergy Lime hands out. Those two are less competitors than a pair, if your team has room for two Supports. Full provider and recipient tables are on the Synergy page.

Who buffs Lime: Volley, from three providers

Lime receives Volley Synergy. Three Cookies grant it:

Provider Rarity Class Cooldown
Herb Cookie SR Support 6.5s
Cheesecake Cookie R Support 8.0s
Tiger Lily Cookie SR Charge 10.0s

Herb Cookie is the best pairing on cooldown alone. At 6.5 seconds it cycles fastest, so Volley gets refreshed most often. Herb is also an SR Support, which means running both costs you two Support slots.

The cheap option is real, though. Cheesecake Cookie is R rarity and matches Lime’s own 8-second cooldown, so a low-rarity Cookie covers this requirement outright. This keeps happening across the roster: the Synergy an expensive Cookie needs is frequently sitting on a Cookie you were handed early and stopped levelling. Tiger Lily is the awkward one — SR, and a Charge rather than a Support, so it fills a frontline slot instead of a back one, and its 10-second cooldown is the slowest of the three.

Competition: the SR Supports

Six SR Supports exist, and they mostly differ by which Synergy they trade:

Cookie Skill Cooldown Grants Receives
Dr. Bones Cookie Emergency CPR 5.75s Chain
Herb Cookie Sunny Garden 6.5s Volley Rapid Fire
Macaron Cookie Mighty Macaron Parade 7.0s Range Rapid Fire
Lime Cookie Beach Ball Surprise 8.0s Chain Volley
Orange Cookie Juicy Smash 9.5s Rapid Fire Duration
Rockstar Cookie Legend of Rock 10.0s Pierce Range

Lime sits fourth of six on cooldown. Two of the class do a broadly similar job faster: Dr. Bones cycles at 5.75s, and Herb cycles at 6.5s while also granting a Synergy of its own.

The honest comparison is against Macaron Cookie, which cycles a second faster and grants Range — a Synergy 18 different Cookies receive. Lime’s Chain reaches five. If you are picking one Support to build first and have no particular team in mind, Macaron covers far more of the roster. Lime wins only when the Cookie you actually care about is on the Chain list.

Orange Cookie is the other one to weigh. It grants Rapid Fire, the scarcest Synergy in the game by demand, and that scarcity makes a 9.5-second cooldown worth tolerating. Lime does not have that excuse. Chain is not the bottleneck Rapid Fire is.

Team fit

Build around the Chain recipient first, not around Lime. The clean version is Lime plus Twizzly Gummy Cookie, whose skill chains between targets natively, with Herb or Cheesecake in the back line keeping Volley up on Lime.

Because the heal only reaches nearby allies, be careful pairing Lime with Cookies that scatter the formation. A team that clumps gets the whole package. A team spread across the lane gets a damage skill with a CRIT% rider.

Water element: extra damage to Fire, extra taken from Grass. See the element chart.

Should you build them?

Build Lime if you own and use one of the five Chain recipients, most obviously Twizzly Gummy. That is a specific, checkable reason, and it is the only strong one.

Skip Lime if your Chain list is empty. An 8-second positional heal with a CRIT% rider is not enough on its own when Dr. Bones cycles at 5.75s and Herb and Macaron both cycle faster and grant a Synergy.

As an SR, Lime is also not a Cookie you are stuck with forever. The usual arc is that a mid-rarity Support carries an early roster and then gets replaced once you have SSRs worth promoting — unless it is your only source for a Synergy you need, which is exactly the situation Lime is built for. See the tier list tool for how the SR Supports are being placed.
