What Legend of Rock does
The in-game text is short and packs a lot in. Broken out:
- Fires musical notes, dealing damage to enemies. Rockstar is a Support that contributes offence directly, not only through buffs.
- Grants shields to nearby allies through performance. A shield on allies in range, not a heal — it absorbs incoming damage rather than restoring lost health.
- Grants Pierce Synergy. This is a passive team effect, not something that fires with the skill. It applies to any Cookie on the team that receives Pierce.
Per-stat base values for SR Cookies are not published in the data we have, so this page does not quote ATK, DEF or HP numbers for Rockstar. Stat templates exist for SSR rarities only.
The catch is the 10-second cooldown. Whatever the shield and the notes are worth, they land less often than anything else in the class. Judge the shield as an occasional cushion, not as sustain you can plan around.
Pierce is the reason to field Rockstar
Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all. Everyone else is on the receiving end. That makes a granting Cookie structurally more valuable than its own skill suggests, because it is not competing on skill quality — it is competing on whether you have another source for that Synergy.
Rockstar grants Pierce. Six Cookies receive it:
| Cookie receiving Pierce |
|---|
| Wind Archer Cookie |
| Witchberry Cookie |
| Cheesecake Cookie |
| Lilac Cookie |
| Space Doughnut |
| Devil Cookie |
If any of those six are in your team, Rockstar stops being an SR Support with a slow skill and becomes the piece that turns one of them on. If none of them are, the Pierce grant does nothing at all, and you are running a 10-second Support for its shield.
That is the whole decision, and it is worth checking your roster before levelling anything. The full provider and recipient tables are on the Synergy page.
Who buffs Rockstar
Rockstar receives Range Synergy. Four Cookies grant it:
| Provider | Rarity | Class | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cream Soda Cookie | SSR | Charge | 3.5s |
| Knight Cookie | U | Tank | 5.0s |
| Toothpaste Cookie | SSR | Support | 6.5s |
| Macaron Cookie | SR | Support | 7.0s |
Cream Soda is the best pairing on paper — a 3.5-second cooldown means the Synergy source is cycling constantly, and it is a Charge, so it fills the front-line slot a Support needs ahead of it.
But note Knight Cookie is U rarity with a 5-second cooldown, second-fastest of the four. That is the pattern this site keeps running into: the cheapest Cookie in the pool covers a Synergy that two SSRs also cover, and it does so at a cooldown the SSR Supports cannot match. If you do not own Cream Soda, you are not blocked. Knight is a Tank, which again fits cleanly in front of Rockstar.
Range is a widely shared Synergy, so the provider you already run for a carry has a reasonable chance of covering Rockstar for free.
Competition: the SR Supports
Six SR Supports, and Rockstar has the longest cooldown of all of them.
| Cookie | Skill | Cooldown | Grants | Receives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Bones Cookie | Emergency CPR | 5.75s | — | Chain |
| Herb Cookie | Sunny Garden | 6.5s | Volley | Rapid Fire |
| Macaron Cookie | Mighty Macaron Parade | 7.0s | Range | Rapid Fire |
| Lime Cookie | Beach Ball Surprise | 8.0s | Chain | Volley |
| Orange Cookie | Juicy Smash | 9.5s | Rapid Fire | Duration |
| Rockstar Cookie | Legend of Rock | 10.0s | Pierce | Range |
Read plainly: Rockstar is last on cooldown. Dr. Bones cycles nearly twice as fast. Macaron does the same job of granting a Synergy three seconds sooner, and grants Range — the exact Synergy Rockstar itself wants, so those two work together rather than against each other.
Where Rockstar is not worse is the grant. Pierce appears nowhere else on this list, so inside the SR Support class Rockstar is the Pierce option. Five of these six grant something, and each grants something different, which means the class is largely chosen by which Synergy your carry needs rather than by which skill is strongest.
Should you build Rockstar?
Build them if you run any of the six Pierce recipients — Wind Archer, Witchberry, Cheesecake, Lilac, Space Doughnut or Devil — and you do not already have another Pierce source. In that case the 10-second cooldown barely matters, because the Synergy grant is passive and the skill itself is a bonus on top.
Skip them otherwise. Without a Pierce recipient on the team you are paying for the slowest skill in the class to get a periodic shield. Dr. Bones at 5.75 seconds or Herb at 6.5 will do more per fight.
Like most SR Cookies, Rockstar is also a slot you should expect to revisit. SR Supports get replaced as SSRs arrive; the reason to keep one long-term is the Synergy it grants, not the skill it casts. Rockstar’s case rests entirely on Pierce.
Fire element: extra damage to Grass, extra taken from Water. See the element chart, and the roster overview on the tier list tool.
