Cookie Run: Crumble — Alchemist Cookie (R Ranged)

Alchemist Cookie is an R-rarity Water-element Ranged Cookie in CookieRun: Crumble. Its skill Clinical Trial runs on a 4.5-second cooldown: it throws reagents that damage enemies and grant Projectile Speed Synergy to allies. That second half is the reason this page exists. Most R Cookies are placeholders, and this one is not.

What Clinical Trial does

Two things at once, from a single 4.5-second cast:

• Damage. Reagents are thrown at enemies. The skill’s damage numbers are not published on the wiki page, and base stats for R-rarity Cookies are not either, so we are not going to guess at them.
• Projectile Speed Synergy to allies. This is a team-wide effect, not a self-buff.

For a Ranged Cookie, 4.5 seconds is a middling cycle. What matters more is that every cast re-applies the Synergy, so a short cooldown on a granting Cookie is worth more than a short cooldown on a pure damage dealer. Alchemist at 4.5s reapplies its buff more than twice as often as a 10-second granter would.

Granting a Synergy is rare, and Alchemist does it

Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all. The rest either receive one or sit outside the system entirely. Being a granter is the most durable reason to keep a low-rarity Cookie on a team, because rarity does not change what a Synergy does. An R Cookie’s Projectile Speed is the same Projectile Speed an SSR would hand out.

Alchemist is one of two Projectile Speed sources in the game. The other is Pomegranate Cookie (SSR, 10.0s cooldown). Alchemist’s 4.5s is well under half of that, so the R Cookie applies the buff more often than the SSR one does. Pomegranate brings a team-wide ATK increase alongside it, so it is not a straight loss. But if what you want is Projectile Speed uptime, Alchemist supplies it better.

Eight Cookies receive Projectile Speed:

The Cream Soda pairing is the tidy one. Cream Soda grants Range and Alchemist receives Range; Alchemist grants Projectile Speed and Cream Soda receives Projectile Speed. Put them on the same team and each one switches the other on. Full provider tables are on the Synergy page.

Who buffs Alchemist

Alchemist receives Range Synergy, and four Cookies grant it:

Cream Soda is the best pairing on paper: shortest cooldown in the group, and as covered above the relationship runs both ways.

Look at the second row, though. Knight Cookie is U rarity, the cheapest tier in the game, and its 5.0-second cooldown is faster than either SSR Support option. If you do not own Cream Soda, a U-rarity Tank covers Alchemist’s Synergy better than a 6.5s or 7.0s SSR does. This keeps recurring across the roster: expensive Cookies’ Synergies are routinely covered by cheap ones, and Range is one of the clearest cases.

Four providers is a comfortable supply. Alchemist is not going to sit un-buffed for lack of options.

Competition: the other R Ranged Cookies

On raw cycle speed Alchemist loses. Lilac at 2.5 seconds is nearly twice as fast, and Space Doughnut is half a second quicker. If you are picking an R Ranged Cookie purely to push damage while you level something better, Lilac is the more obvious choice.

Alchemist wins on the thing none of the other three do: it feeds the rest of the team. Lilac, Space Doughnut and Cherry all only take. Alchemist takes Range and gives Projectile Speed back.

One more thing worth knowing about that table: Cherry depends on Rapid Fire, the Synergy with the worst supply in the game, where twelve recipients compete for two providers. Alchemist’s Range has four providers for a shorter queue.

Element and team fit

Water element. Alchemist deals extra damage to Fire enemies and takes extra damage from Grass. See the element chart for the full wheel.

The team that wants Alchemist is one that already contains at least one of the eight Projectile Speed recipients. If none of them is on your board, Alchemist is just an R Ranged Cookie with a 4.5-second damage skill, and Lilac does that faster.

The cleanest core to build around it: Alchemist plus Cream Soda, closing the Synergy loop in both directions, plus Madeleine as the frontline. Madeleine receives both Range and Projectile Speed, so it benefits from Alchemist and from Cream Soda at the same time.

Should you build it?

Yes, and for longer than you would normally keep an R Cookie.

The usual advice for R and U rarity is to level them early and replace them when SSRs arrive. That does not fully apply here. Rarity determines stats; it does not determine what a Synergy grants. There are only two sources of Projectile Speed in the entire roster, and Alchemist reapplies it more than twice as often as the SSR alternative. A roster without Pomegranate has exactly one way to turn Projectile Speed on.

Skip it if you have no Projectile Speed recipients. Skip it if you want an R-rarity damage stand-in and nothing else, because Lilac at 2.5 seconds is better at that job.

Treat Alchemist as a utility slot rather than a carry. Judged as a carry it is unremarkable. Judged as one of eighteen Synergy granters, it earns a permanent spot in the box.
