What Unstoppable Tears does
Two things at once, both aimed at the enemy rather than at your own team:
- Area damage to enemies standing in the tear zone.
- An ATK reduction on those enemies.
The ATK cut is the part worth noticing. A Support whose skill lowers enemy damage is doing defensive work without being a Tank. It takes pressure off your frontline for as long as the zone is up, which is genuinely useful on a beginner roster where the Tank is usually under-levelled.
The catch is the delivery. It is a zone, so it only pays off against enemies that stay inside it. Against a pack that walks straight through, the effect lapses the moment they leave. And 6.5 seconds is not a fast cycle, so you are not re-placing this zone often.
The Cookie Run Wiki does not publish per-stat values at base promotion for Onion Cookie, and we have no verified stat template for U-rarity Cookies, so we are not quoting ATK, DEF or HP numbers here. The stat templates published on this site cover SSR only.
Who buffs Onion Cookie
Onion Cookie receives Range Synergy, and Range is one of the better-supplied Synergies in the game: four different Cookies grant it, double the supply of Rapid Fire, which is the scarcest.
| Provider | Rarity | Class | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cream Soda Cookie | SSR | Charge | 3.5s |
| Knight Cookie | U | Tank | 5.0s |
| Toothpaste Cookie | SSR | Support | 6.5s |
| Macaron Cookie | SR | Support | 7.0s |
Cream Soda Cookie is the strongest pairing on paper: 3.5 seconds is the shortest cooldown of the four, so the Range buff is refreshed most often.
But the pairing that actually matters for a Cookie like this one is Knight Cookie. Knight is U rarity, the same tier as Onion, and cycles at 5.0 seconds, second-fastest of the four providers. You do not need an SSR pull to turn Onion Cookie’s Range on. This is the pattern that repeats across the whole roster: a cheap Cookie covers a Synergy that looks like it should demand an expensive one. The full provider list for every Synergy is on the Synergy page.
Knight is also a Tank, which fits the shape of the team you would build around Onion anyway: a frontline body that holds enemies inside the tear zone long enough for the ATK reduction to matter.
What Onion Cookie does not do
It grants nothing.
Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all, so granting nothing is the normal state. But it is a real gap for a Support specifically, because Support is the class where granting is most common and most expected. Onion Cookie takes a team slot and hands the other four Cookies no Synergy in return.
Competition: the other U Supports
Onion Cookie shares its rarity and class with three others.
| Cookie | Skill | Cooldown | Grants | Receives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cheerleader Cookie | Cheering You On! | 5.0s | Duration | Range |
| Coffee Cookie | Care for Some Coffee? | 5.0s | Duration | Rapid Fire |
| Angel Cookie | Celestial Light | 6.0s | none | Duration |
| Onion Cookie | Unstoppable Tears | 6.5s | none | Range |
Read plainly, that table is not flattering. Onion Cookie has the longest cooldown of the four and is one of only two that grants nothing. Cheerleader Cookie is directly ahead of it on both counts: 1.5 seconds faster, receives the same Range Synergy from the same four providers, and grants Duration to the team on top of that.
If you are picking one U Support to invest in and you own Cheerleader, Cheerleader is the straightforward choice. Coffee Cookie is equally fast but wants Rapid Fire, which only two Cookies in the game supply.
Where Onion Cookie still earns a slot: none of the other three do what Unstoppable Tears does. Cheerleader and Coffee grant Duration, Angel casts Celestial Light. Onion Cookie is the only one of the four whose skill actively weakens the enemy. If your problem is that you are taking too much damage rather than dealing too little, that is a different job description.
Element
Dark. Light and Dark counter each other both ways, so Onion Cookie hits Light enemies harder and takes more damage from them in return. Dark has no advantage or disadvantage against Fire, Water or Grass. See the element chart.
Should you build Onion Cookie?
Early, yes, with a shelf life.
U-rarity Cookies are what you have before you have anything else, and Onion Cookie is a perfectly functional early Support: it damages, it debuffs, and its Synergy provider (Knight) is another U you are likely to own. That combination gets you through early content without spending resources you would rather save.
Replace it when you pull a Support with a shorter cooldown, or one that grants a Synergy. Cheerleader Cookie is the nearest upgrade inside the same rarity. The usual reason to keep a low-rarity Cookie past its window, being the only source of a Synergy your team needs, does not apply here, because Onion Cookie grants nothing. Nothing on your team breaks when you bench it.
So: build it if it is what you have, level it only as far as the content requires, and do not pour promotion materials into it once a faster Support turns up. To compare it against the rest of the roster, the tier list tool covers all 69 Cookies.

FAQ
What is Onion Cookie's skill in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Unstoppable Tears, on a 6.5-second cooldown. Onion Cookie zones off an area with tears, dealing damage to nearby enemies and reducing their ATK. It is a damage-plus-debuff skill rather than an ally buff.
Which Cookies boost Onion Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Onion Cookie receives Range Synergy, which has four providers: Cream Soda Cookie (SSR, 3.5s), Knight Cookie (U, 5.0s), Toothpaste Cookie (SSR, 6.5s) and Macaron Cookie (SR, 7.0s). Knight is a U-rarity Cookie, so the cheapest option is also the second-fastest.
Does Onion Cookie grant a Synergy in Cookie Run: Crumble?
No. Onion Cookie receives Range but grants nothing. Only 18 of the 69 launch Cookies grant a Synergy at all, and two of Onion's three U Support classmates, Cheerleader Cookie and Coffee Cookie, grant Duration while Onion does not.
What element is Onion Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble?
Dark. Light and Dark counter each other both ways, so Onion Cookie deals extra damage to Light enemies and takes extra damage from them.
